Minister of State Lalnghinglova Hmar inaugurated three major development projects in Champhai district on 7 April 2026.
The projects inaugurated include a Heritage and Cultural Centre at Champhai Vengsang, an Eco Resort Experience at Keilungliah, and an Artificial Turf football ground at New Champhai.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Minister said the projects are significant for promoting community-based tourism and sports development in the district. The Heritage and Cultural Centre will serve as a venue for meetings, conferences, and cultural activities, while the Eco Resort Experience at Keilungliah is expected to enhance tourist facilities by providing cottages, recreational spaces, and amenities for visitors.
The tourism projects were implemented under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme of the Tourism Department. The artificial turf project is being developed under the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Karyakram through the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
